Privacy Policy

Your ledger is yours. This policy explains what Slip keeps on your iPhone and the few requests that leave it.

Last updated: 24 October 2026

What Slip does

Slip is a personal expense ledger for iPhone, developed by Jiajia Zhang. Contact: isjiajiazhang@gmail.com.

What stays on your iPhone

Transaction amounts, merchants, notes, categories, rules and receipt processing are not uploaded to Slip servers — there are none. Receipt text recognition and supported Apple Intelligence assistance run on your device. Slip requires no account and contains no advertising, behavioural analytics or tracking SDKs.

Permissions

Camera access is used to scan receipts. Photo access is used when you choose a receipt image. You can manage both in iOS Settings. Slip does not request location, contacts or health data.

What leaves your device

For currency conversion, Slip requests reference exchange rates from Frankfurter (api.frankfurter.dev). When necessary it falls back to Fawaz currency data served through jsDelivr (cdn.jsdelivr.net) or Cloudflare Pages (currency-api.pages.dev). Requests include currency codes and, when needed, a calendar date. They do not include transaction amounts, merchant names, notes, receipt images, receipt text, advertising identifiers or account details.

Like other web services, these providers receive your IP address and normal connection metadata; their operation and logging are governed by their own policies. Slip does not operate an exchange-rate server and does not receive these requests.

Backups and export

When you export or share a backup, you choose its destination. A file saved to iCloud Drive or another cloud service is handled by that service. Device backups may also be managed by iOS according to your settings. Protect exported files, because they contain your financial records. Slip does not provide its own cloud synchronisation.

Purchases

Slip Pro is bought through the App Store. Apple handles payment and billing; Slip only learns whether the purchase or subscription is active and receives no payment details.

Deleting your data

To remove the local app data, delete Slip from your iPhone using Delete App rather than Offload App. Exported files and device backups must be managed separately. There is no server account to delete.

Support email

If you email support, your email address and the information you send are used to respond to your request. Avoid sending full ledgers or unredacted receipts unless it is necessary.

Children, tracking and advertising

Slip contains no advertising, no third-party analytics and no tracking technologies, and it does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children.

Changes

This policy will be updated if Slip's data practices change. The date above always reflects the current version.
