Slip

Slip is a personal expense ledger that keeps your records on your iPhone. Log everyday purchases, scan receipts, and see your spending in the context of the budget you actually set — not a category pie chart you never asked for.

• A daily view of your budget — set a monthly budget and see today's remaining allowance, with everyday spending kept separate from fixed costs like rent and subscriptions.
• Quick entry — amount and merchant, or one short sentence. Siri and Shortcuts automations can pass a transaction in, after you set them up with the in-app guide. No bank connection.
• Receipts, on device — scan a paper receipt or pick a photo; text recognition runs on the iPhone, and you check and correct the fields before anything is saved.
• Categories you control — merchant matching and custom rules do the routine work, Apple Intelligence can assist on supported devices, and uncertain entries wait in a review queue for your decision.
• Twelve currencies — DKK, EUR, USD, GBP, SEK, NOK, CNY, JPY, CHF, PLN, ISK and HKD, keeping the original amount with a conversion in your main currency.
• Portable records — spending summaries by category and period, plus JSON backup export and restore, free.
• Privacy built into the workflow — no account, no ads, no tracking. The ledger and receipt processing stay on the device.

What Slip does not do

It does not connect to your bank, read other apps' notifications, or upload your ledger anywhere. It also has no cloud sync of its own: a backup you export goes wherever you send it, and that destination is your choice and your responsibility.

Free and Pro

Slip is a free download. Slip Pro is optional, offered as a yearly subscription ($11.99/year with a 7-day free introductory offer) or a one-time lifetime purchase ($19.99). Existing entries, manual logging, JSON backup and restore stay free either way. Restore Purchases lives on the paywall and under Settings → Slip Pro.
